Money Exchange in Sanya
There are the Bank of China, Agricultural Bank, Industry and commerce Bank, Communicaltion Bank, Construction Bank and Everbright Bank in Sanya, which offer services of exchanging foreign currency or travel checks in offices or hotels. The International major credit card such as Visa, Master, American Express, etc. and other Chinese credit card can be used in hotels, some restaurants and shops. A lot of ATM cash machines are installed in the city and most of hotels, 24 hours available.
The Chinese currency is RMB (CNY), including paper money in 100, 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1 yuan and in 5,2 and 1 jiao; and the coin in 1 yuan, and 5,1 jiao and 5,2,1 fen.

There are many public telephones in the streets, at the airport, harbor, hotels and scenic spots. You can buy IC telephone card in hotels or post offices.
If you got something urgently, it’s better that you call the hotel manager as they can speak English.
Passport and Visa
Sanya is open to all countries which have established diplomatic or official relations with China. It’s not necessary to have visa for foreign passengers before they come to Sanya for traveling, business, investment and visiting relatives. Foreigners can extend visa in Sanya if its valid period is over. Sanya has the most convenient visa issuing policy in China. It only takes 20 minutes to get a landing visa when passengers arrive at the airport. Sanya can issue 15 days free tour visa for tourists from the USA, UK, France, Japan, Korea, Russia, Australia and Thailand, etc.
Taxi cost in Sanya and road transportation in Sanya
It cost RMB40+ by taxi from the Sanya airport to downtown and RMB100+ to Yalong Bay. If you take the airport shuttle, only RMB10 to the downtown. No airport shuttle to Yalong Bay. Jenny’s tip: Taxi system at Sanya airport is quite mass, and big problems with communication in English, you could be better to reserve pickup service from us.
There are many lines city bus: No.202 and No.204, No. 11, No. 10, No. 8, etc. from 6am till 12am in the Sanya downtown are very popular, cost only 1 yuan each. To Yalong Bay, you can take the double decker from Dadonghai at 7 yuan. Or it cost RMB50+ from Sanya downtown to Yalong Bay by taxi. To Sanya airport, No. 8 bus from Dadonghai and downtown. To Sanya railway station, No. 204 and No. 10.
In order to facilitate the public transport for Sanya residents and tourists, the Sanya government has decided to add 6 bus routes and renovate the bus stop signs in 2011.
According to the public transport bureau of Sanya, the newly-added bus routes will focus on the linking of airport, railway station and scenic spots. Meanwhile, with more and more foreign tourists visiting Sanya every year, the bureau is considering adding English and Russian version to bus stop signs, in an effort to facilitate the travel for foreign tourists in Sanya.
